Beef Tataki

Beef Tataki



  • 300g Beef Fillet
  • 4 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 3 Tbsp Rice Vinegar
  • 1 finely sliced Shallot
  • 2Tbsp Sugar
  • Zest Only Lime
  • 1 Tsp each Ginger and Garlic
  • Salad

  • Handful Beansprouts
  • 1/2 Cucumber
  • Handful Watercress
  • 1 finely sliced Shallot
  • 3 Tbsp Soy sauce
  • 3 Tbsp Rice Vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp Palm Sugar
  • Juice and zest Lemon
  • 1 finely sliced Chilli
  • 3 Tbsp chopped Peanuts


  1. Sear the beef for 1 minute a side. Then mix all the marinade ingredients together, place in a sealable bag with the beef. Mariande for at least a couple of hours upto 8.
  2. For the salad, mix all the dressing ingredients together. Pour over the combined vegetables.
  3. Finely slice the beef and lay on top of the salad.

      Thanks for the lovely comments Lisa. It’s such a shame we can’t do a Blog swap of foods. I suppose you could send your cakes out but mine would be a little more difficult! I’m pleased you like the blog, let me know how you get on with it. I’m thinking of giving your zebra cake a go.
