This is one of my easiest dishes ever. As you can see this crab claw salad looks spectacular and tastes even better. This is a good example of letting great ingredients speak for themselves. I was lucky enough to find my fish monger with a few enormous crab legs. If you can’t get these maybe try online suppliers such as Fine Food Specialists. Failing that, and for a quick recipe just use tinned.
The salad is simply cucumber and mango. While the crab is dressed with my Chimichurri dressing
Ingredients
- 2 Large.(400g each) Crab Claws
- 4 Tbsp Chimichurri Dressing(see link above)
- 2 Diced Mango
- 1, peeled. Cucumber
Directions
- To begin, salt the cucumber. Leave for half an hour to draw out some of the juices. Wash, remove seeds and dice finely.
- Add a layer of cucumber to the bottom of a glass, add mango on top of that.
- Finally combine the crab meat with the dressing and hey presto. Guests will go wild for this.
Now this is my kind of salad! Simple yet bursting with color and flavor: a total winner!
Yum. Love chimichurri, and coincidentally, I prepared my first crab just this week – perfect timing to find your recipe, David. Love the mango with the salad too.
Did you prepare a full crab Hester. I’m still yet to be brave enough to do it. I can handle a leg though!
Hi Dave, I made a crab salad for a starter for a dinner party a couple of weeks ago, the post will be up on the 28th! I love chimichurri as well but never thought to pair it with the sweet crab, very clever. This is a lovely starter and the presentation is very elegant. Another nice recipe, thank you.
I can’t believe you’re so organised you know what dates what dishes go up. I’ll look forward to it.
This is stunning. I love chimichurri.
I have been thinking about preparing a crab salad for awhile and you have just inspired me! This recipe looks delicious and easy! I love the colours! Exquisite as always Dave!
This looks great David! I am always intimidated by crab. I don’t know what to do with it half the time. I really need to get over the fear and just have a go.
Thanks for stopping by at my site and leaving a very sweet comment!

Hi David, thanks for stopping by to say hello. I absolutely adore the simplicity of this starter! I’ve always felt that mango & chimichurri are a match made in heaven, so this one’s a definite winner. Having grown up on a tropical island, I love crab, nothing better than a fresh-about-to-wake-up crab!
Will have to try this in the summer!
Hey there, I’m a new blogger coming from Biolettes, Switzerland who found you on http://www.fdathome.co.uk/crab-claw-salad/. Would you have any advice for those exploring blogging? I’m working on
beginning my own website soon but I don’t really know where to get started. Do you believe I should start out with a free site like Micro Blogs or invest some cash into a pay site? There are so many options out there that I’m
totally overloaded… What would you say?
I would say start with a free blog. You can then begin to build a following and learn how SEO works and the blogging community. Once that starts doing well, move to a hosted site.
